A YEAR IN REVIEW 2023 WISCONSIN, MINNESOTA, DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
You could say that 2023 was the year of magic in the making… not only did I get to experience, document and live out many beautiful wedding days and engagement sessions with my clients across Wisconsin, Colorado and Minnesota this past year, but FOUR of my newlywed couples ended up sharing the news with me that they are having babies in 2024! Wild, happy, life changing news! Congratulations to all of my couples, and especially all of the friends that are now preparing to welcome babies!
When I reflect on what I’ve witnessed and captured over the past year, it was a fun, upbeat year with happy couples that chose to host their weddings and plan out their engagement sessions in their own unique way. Non-traditional, offbeat sometimes, and in more distinct ways than years past. Custom all-you-can-eat handmade cream served from a pink truck on top of a mountain for example, it definitely left a lasting impression on guests! Inviting family to celebrate a new marriage at a brewery surrounded by colorful skull murals, cacti centerpieces, and individual guacamole for all… I loved every bit of it! Lakeside ceremonies (you can NEVER go wrong with a lakeside ceremony, by the way), toasting to forever with craft brews with your best friends moments before walking down the aisle, leaving your wedding reception to go on a two month camping honeymoon excursion in the Canadian Rockies, honoring your father who had sadly passed away by driving away from your wedding day in his freshly restored mustang with your gorgeous bride by your side, kicking off your wedding day by renting a jeep and hopping on it with your bridesmaids to pop the bubbly into the mountain air, marrying your police officer fiance and getting a special police escort out of your ceremony, and running through the grass with your wedding party in the same place that your family once grew up together. It was all meaningful, it was all tear-jerking for me to document, and I’m forever grateful for such a special year of weddings and engagements with people that will forever be dear to my heart. Thank you for choosing me and being yourselves in front of my cameras, we had the best time making these photographs together!
